In todays world when do we ever get “free “ time, time for ourselves, time to be just be still and quiet? With our hectic schedules, demands of work and family we are often left exhausted at the end of the day , spending weekends catching up on sleep instead of enjoying quality time doing the things we enjoy.
With tight deadlines we are forced to squeeze as much out of the day as possible not realizing the toll this takes on our bodies and minds. Stress is part of everyday life and instead of slowing down we push our bodies and minds to the limit, to meet deadlines, make more money or just trying to survive.
Mental breakdowns, chronic stress and stress related diseases are on the rise and sadly are an accepted part of life. Is it worth it? Is this what life is all about?
Why not a more balanced approach ? Instead of going flat out perhaps a little less pressure on the proverbial pedal. Slowing down, working less hours, deligating, not being responsible for everything or everyone, spending more time with our children , doing more of the activities we enjoy, exercising , enjoying nature….and letting our minds relax , listening to just our thoughts…
Activity versus inactivity. Less is sometimes more…
