The amazing benefits of cold water

A lot has been said of cold water therapy. I’ve never really taken the idea seriously until recently. Taking the advice of EMT coaches, Scott and Mauricio, who practice the “art” of cold showers every day I took the plunge and had my first cold shower. That was a week ago, so I’m no expert. However, from my 3 or 4 experiences under cold water I can assure the feeling after is quite wonderful. I feel rejuvenated and motivated, fresh as a cucumber. Your body will tingle and glow; you’ll want to get out and do stuff.

A coincidence that we feel happier and healthier with cold splashes, showers, and baths? When practiced regularly, immersion in cold water has various benefits. However, before I go any further you will struggle. Be warned.

Start slowly, lowering the temperature of the water in increments until you can’t take any further drop in temperature. Sustain and keep under the water for as long as possible.Conditioning your body and your brain to accept and endure immersion in cold water is quite a challenge but the cold water benefits in the short- and long-term are worth it.
